Szrenica - a really beautiful place on the Czech-Polish border on the ridges of the Giant Mountains with a unique view. It is one of the dominant features of the western part of the Krkonoše.

On-line webcam Szrenica | Giant Mountains | Karkonosze

On the Szrenica webcam you can see the Polish side of the Krkonoše Mountains along the Czech-Polish border. On the right side you can see Violík and you can clearly see the Sněžné jámy.

We highly recommend a mountain hike from Szrenica. You will get to know a completely different part of the Giant Mountains than you are used to. Our tip is below.

Szrenica (Czech: Jínonoš, German: Reifträger) is located on the Polish side of the Giant Mountains in the main ridge, about 200 m from the Czech-Polish border, 3.5 km south of Szklarska Poręba. Szrenice Peak is situated at an altitude of 1362 m.

Szrenica with its pointed peak protruding from the border ridge is one of the dominant features of the western part of the Krkonoše Mountains. The granite composition of the mountain is outwardly manifested by boulder debris and numerous rock tori.

The Szrenica chalet has stood on the summit since 1922, and below the summit on the northern slope is the upper station of the SKI ARENA Szrenica chairlift, which also serves as a lift for one of the largest downhill skiing areas on the Polish side of the Giant Mountains.

From the Polish side, you can get to the vicinity of the peak by chairlift from Szklarska Poręba and then walk along a black marked hiking trail approximately 500 m long to the peak itself. From the Czech side, access is possible via a turn off the red marked Czech-Polish Friendship Trail.

Webcam Szklarska Poręba with a view of the SKI ARENA Szrenica cable car is available here.

We highly recommend a mountain hike from Szrenica-

OUR TIP: stay overnight in the mountain hut Schronisko Szrenica, or in the nearby Schronisko Na Hali Szrenickiej both mountain huts have very nice equipment and facilities. In the morning, after breakfast, either follow the ridge of the Krkonoše Mountains, or even better - for fit hikers - follow the green, Polish side of the Krkonoše Mountains. You will be rewarded with a beautiful hike. Above you will be the massif of the Sněžké Pits, and you will pass by the Sniežne Stawki lakes. You continue on the green and come out at Petrovka.
