Route description

The trip starts from Špindlerova Bouda, where you will be taken by bus from Špindlerův Mlýn.

From Špindlerova bouda you will follow the red sign. Don't be afraid of the initial climb. However, once you master this, you will be rewarded with spectacular views. The path will take you along the northern foot of Maly Šišák to Slonecznik, also known as Polední kámen. This place is magical and full of positive energy.

The next part of the route will take you along pleasant trails towards Prince Henry's Hut. After about 2 km, turn onto the Amber Road towards Luční Bouda, where you can make a short stop and taste the local beer Paroháč directly from the Luční Boudy brewery. This hut is a great place to relax.

From Luční Bouda you will take the exact same route back to Špindlerův Mlýn.

The whole route is quite difficult, but you will be rewarded with a return where you will feel refreshed and full of energy.

Malý Šišák

The mountain of a distinctly cumulus shape is located about 4 km northeast of Špindlerův Mlýn. Although it is called Malý Šišák, it is 16 meters higher than Velký Šišák, located on the Polish side a few kilometers away. The state border with Poland passes through the top of Malý Šišák and the Czech-Polish Friendship Trail leads along its northern slope. The top of the mountain is bare and, together with the slopes, is covered with stone seas and resistant dwarf pines.

Noon Stone

It is a 12 m high granite rock on the northern slope of the Silver Ridge, which serves as a distinctive landmark. It got its name because the sun can be seen directly above it from the Polish side of the Giant Mountains at noon. That's why it began to be called Słonecznik in Polish and Polední kámen in Czech. Near the stone there is an old stone bench, which is said to have been preserved here from the time of the first conquerors of the Krkonoše Mountains. From the top you can see the Sosnowka dam in Poland.
