Route description

It is a trip with the starting point at the top station of the cable car to Medvědín. From the top station of the cable car you will walk along the blue trail towards Horní Mísečky and Restaurant Stopa. The distance from the top station of the cable car to the Stopa Restaurant is about 3 km and you go mostly downhill.

From Restaurant Stopa you continue to Harrachova skala. You do not follow the hiking signs towards Labská (blue and red hiking trail), but you take the Bear Trail, which is a winter cross-country skiing trail.

You will follow the Bear Trail for about 600 metres and at the bend on the horizon on the left you will turn onto Harrachova skala. A signpost by the road will warn you of this. Harrachova skála is about 100 m from the path. The viewpoint is equipped with a wooden information board showing the visible destinations and a simple railing. From this point you have the Krkonoše Mountains in the palm of your hand. You can see Kotel, Zlaté návrší, Horní Mísečky. Behind Medvědín you can see Malý Šišák, Špindler's and Erlebach's Hut. Right in front of you is Železný vrch, the dominant feature of the Goat Ridges and the Luční Hora. On the right side you can see the long ski slope of the Stoh mountain and the Svatý Petr - Pláň ski resort. The view of Hromovka, Žalý and Mechovinec completes the mountain parade.

The route back to Špindlerův Mlýn leads through Labská. Exit the lookout and go left (do not return to the Stopa). You continue for about 80 m and at the crossroads you go downhill to the left down the Buchar path to the crossroads Pod Harrachovou skálou. Continue along the blue trail towards Labská, when you pass the Assmann's Well and on the northern edge of Labská change the blue trail for the green trail towards Špindlerův Mlýn.

This hike offers the most beautiful panoramic view of the Krkonoše Mountains.

Important information

After getting off the cable car, walk about 300 meters and go down the asphalt road on the right side of the slope along a narrow path to Horní Mísečky to Stopa. This will save you about 2 km of walking and 30 minutes of time.
