Route description
The cycle route starts with the Na Pláň cable car exit, from where you cycle from the upper station to the Nad Věřinou crossroads along cycle route No. K17. Follow this signpost to the U Krásné Pláně signpost, from there you follow the K1A signpost. Follow this cycle route to Šestidomí. From Šestidomí you continue to Strážný, which you pass through and on the way through the signpost Pod Strážným you go along the Kamenná cesta to Hořejší Vrchlabí, where you reach Horská Street. Take a short ride down this street and take cycle route 2, Labská, heading for the signpost that will guide you to the lower station of the Herlíkovice cable car, which you will take up.
From the top station of the cable car, follow cycle route K10A uphill to the Přední Žalý lookout tower, which offers an excellent view. In good weather you can see not only the Krkonoše panorama, but also the Jizera Mountains, Ještěd, the Lusatian Mountains and Trosky in the Bohemian Paradise.
From the lookout tower you return back to Špindlerův Mlýn, first along the K10 cycle path, which will take you to the Rovinka crossroads with its popular seasonal refreshments. From the crossroads, take cycle route K13 to Třídomí, where you turn onto cycle route K11, which takes you to the southern edge of Labská to Bedřichov. From Bedřichov to the end of the route to the centre of Špindlerův Mlýn, cycle route K1A will take you.
This is an excellent, easy circuit, which is not so well known. Most of the route is downhill, because you use cable cars to go up, which help you to overcome the highest elevation. Therefore, this hike is also suitable for families with children, although we classify it as more challenging in terms of the number of kilometres covered.
If you do not want to use the cable cars, you can of course first climb the panel road to Hromovka and then to Pláň. The same then in Herlíkovice, where it is possible to try a more demanding alternative without using the cable car.
Important information
Before the trip, check the operation of both cable cars.
Bicycle transport is free of charge with a valid ticket.
