Bozkov Dolomite Caves
Popis
The Bozkov Dolomite Caves on the northern edge of Bozkov on the slope of the Na Vápenci plateau were formed by strong corrosive activity of groundwater in a lenticular body of calcareous dolomites, metamorphosed and strongly silicified in places.
Two separate systems of corridors and halls, connected by an adit, are permanently flooded with water in the lowest parts - the underground lake is the largest in Bohemia.
They are characterized by an unusual extent and unique forms of selective corrosion of walls and ceilings.
With a total length of 1118 meters and a height span of 43 meters, they are the longest dolomite caves in the Czech Republic.
