FORGET ABOUT SUMMER TIRES IN THE MOUNTAINS

Remember that you are not allowed on mountainous sections of roads marked with a "winter equipment" or "snow chains" sign on summer tires.

It requires drivers to use winter tires with a minimum tread depth of 4 mm on all wheels. For vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, the tyres on the drive wheels must be over 6 mm.

Equipment is essential even when the road is free of snow and the sun is shining. Without it, there is a risk of a fine and penalty points.
