Route description
With cross-country skis, the whole route starts at the upper station of the Medvědín cable car, so you need to take the cable car up. More experienced enthusiasts can climb up to the Krkonoše Highway and along the Vodovodní cesta.
After getting off the cable car, you descend the Vodovodní cesta about 950 m, where you join the Krkonoše Highway uphill towards Vrbatova bouda. There is a more challenging climb ahead of you. After ascending to Vrbatova bouda, you go a few dozen metres to the Hanč and Vrbata Mound and then descend along the pole markings through Pančavská meadow to Labská bouda, where it is the right time for a stop and refreshment.
After resting you continue on and under Labská bouda you follow the green trail towards Martinova bouda. You follow the High Wheel trail and then descend to Martinova bouda, from where another 1.5 km descent to Medvědí bouda awaits you.
From Medvědí bouda you continue on through a difficult section to David's huts and then you go downhill again towards Dívčí lávky. When you reach the confluence of the Elbe and the White Elbe, you are only 1 km from the starting point of the ski tracks.
This trip is a bit physically demanding, but it is pleasant and you will have many long runs and many beautiful views of the Krkonoše Mountains. Along the route you have the possibility of several stops in mountain huts for rest, refreshments or to hide from the bad weather. It is suitable only for cross-country skiers or skialps.

Vrbatova bouda belongs to a chain of summit huts, which represent solid points of reference for all inhabitants and visitors of the Krkonoše Mountains. It is located on the ridges of the Giant Mountains on the Golden Hill at an altitude of 1,400 m above sea level. In its immediate vicinity is the source of the Elbe and the Pančavský waterfall with a beautiful view of the Elbe mine. It is named after Václav Vrbata from Mříčná, who tragically died on April 24, 1913 during an international 50-kilometer ski race together with his friend Bohumil Hanč from Hrabačov.

It is a popular stop for tourists heading to the source of the Elbe. Hotel Labská bouda is located in the first zone of the Giant Mountains National Park. It is situated at an altitude of 1340 m on the Elbe meadow northwest of Špindlerův Mlýn, less than 1 km from the source of the Elbe. The modern building from 1975 bears the same name as the inn, which burned down in 1965. However, the history of this place dates back to 1830, when an enterprising woman allegedly sold goat products and spirits to passers-by and had a small booth made of stones, bark and brushwood.
The crossroads of Dívčí lávky is located on the road from Špindlerův Mlýn to Špindlerova bouda, near the confluence of the Elbe and White Elbe.
