INTERESTING FACT: WHY ARE THE SLOPES SNOWMOBILES IN THE EVENING

The slopes are groomed in the evening to ensure the best possible snow quality for skiers.

Frost plays an important role, which affects the structure (so-called corduroy) created by the snowcat finisher for several hours.

The evening is the ideal time after the slopes close, when there is no traffic on them and the snow can be processed evenly. That is why the snowmobiles go out to groom the slopes every day right after the end of operation at 16:30.

In the morning, snowmobiles are only possible if there was fresh snowfall overnight and more than 10 cm of snow fell. The snowmobiles go out to "cross" the fresh layer of snow and smooth it into a compact structure.

If only up to 10 cm of snow falls overnight after grooming, the snowmobiles do not go out in the morning, because the skins would damage the already finished and frozen corduroy and the slope would then deteriorate very quickly due to the movement of skiers.
